2026 ඔක්තෝබර් ජාතික කියවීම් මාසය, පාසල් පුස්තකාල සතිය සහ ජාත්යන්තර පාසල් පුස්තකාල දිනය නිමිත්තෙන් දිවයිනේ සියලුම පළාත්, කලාප, පිරිවෙන් සහ පාසල් ප්රධානීන් වෙත අධ්යාපන අමාත්යාංශය විසින් විශේෂ චක්රලේඛ මාර්ගෝපදේශ (ED/09/96/01/02/10-2026) නිකුත් කර ඇත. "කියවන්නට ඉගෙන ගනිමු - අනාගතය දිනන්නට පෙළගැසෙමු" යන තේමාව යටතේ ඔක්තෝබර් 26 සිට 30 දක්වා පාසල් පුස්තකාල සතිය ක්රියාත්මක වන අතර, සියලු විෂය ගුරුවරුන් කියවීම කේන්ද්ර කරගත් අවම පාඩම් 02ක් සැලසුම් කළ යුතුය. වාර්තා නොවැම්බර් 15 දිනට පෙර කලාප අධ්යක්ෂවරුන්ට භාරදිය යුතුය.
2026 ஒக்டோபர் தேசிய வாசிப்பு மாதம், பாடசாலை நூலக வாரம் மற்றும் சர்வதேச பாடசாலை நூலக தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு நாடளாவிய ரீதியிலுள்ள அனைத்து பாடசாலைகள், பிரிவெனாக்கள் மற்றும் வலயக் கல்விப் பணிப்பாளர்களுக்கான வழிகாட்டல் சுற்றறிக்கையை (ED/09/96/01/02/10-2026) கல்வி அமைச்சு வெளியிட்டுள்ளது. "வாசிக்கக் கற்றுக்கொள்வோம் – எதிர்காலத்தை வெல்வோம்" எனும் தொனிப்பொருளில் ஒக்டோபர் 26 முதல் 30 வரை நூலக வாரம் அனுசரிக்கப்படும். பாட ஆசிரியர்கள் வாசிப்பை மையமாகக் கொண்ட குறைந்தது 2 பாடங்களை நடாத்த வேண்டும் என்பதுடன், முழுமையான அறிக்கைகள் 2026 நவம்பர் 15 இற்குள் வலயக் கல்விப் பணிப்பாளர்களிடம் சமர்ப்பிக்கப்பட வேண்டும்.

The circular emphasizes reading not as an isolated extracurricular activity, but as an essential learning foundation across all academic disciplines:
- Curriculum Delivery (2 Mandatory Lessons): Every subject teacher must design and teach a minimum of two (02) structured lessons during October utilizing reading-centered learning techniques (such as KWL charts, the Pyramid method, and Cornell note-taking).
- Classroom Reading Corners & Media: Every classroom must maintain an active reading corner and produce creative student-led wall newspapers.
- Cross-Disciplinary Reading Camps: Encouragement of subject-specific reading initiatives (e.g., science reading circles and mathematics discovery reading camps).
- Modern Literacy Techniques: School Library Learning Resource Centers must orient students on comprehension strategies (SQ3R and KWL models), visual literacy (interpreting maps, stamps, national flags, and editorial cartoons), and digital/subtitle reading for speed comprehension.
- Community Involvement: Implementing the "Human Library" concept, author-illustrator interactive forums, and screening literary documentaries without imposing financial burdens on students.
- Planning Phase: School Library Committees must finalize their Annual Reading Month Action Plan prior to the final week of September 2026.
- Resource Optimization: Collaborate with School Development Societies (SDS), past pupils' associations, and local municipal/pradeshiya sabha public libraries to minimize event expenditure.
- Data Collection: Maintain records of student participation rates, reading cards, book issues, and event photographs throughout October.
- Zonal Submission: Complete comprehensive school-level progress reports and submit them to the respective Zonal Education Director on or before November 15, 2026.
- National Monitoring: Zonal directors will compile and evaluate zonal reports for submission to the School Library Development Branch of the Ministry of Education.
