Editor's guidance (general advice, not part of the notice)
The points below are general guidance by GovInfo.lk, not part of the official notice.
- Pick the right basis. Limited basis is only for existing staff in primary grade unskilled posts of the Department with five years' service and confirmation. If that is not you, apply on the open basis.
- Check all three requirements, not just the O/L. The NVQ certificate and two years of experience are both required, and the experience must be certified.
- Calculate your age on 13 November 2026 (open basis), and keep your original birth certificate from the Divisional Secretariat ready.
- Post early. The notice puts the risk of delay on you, so send the registered post well before the closing date and keep the receipt.
- Check the character certificate name. The notice refers to a "DS 014" certificate in one place and a "DS 04" certificate in another. Ask your Grama Niladhari which form the Department expects and bring the one the notice names, and ask the Department if you are unsure.
- Build your additional training record. In the open-basis interview, additional professional training carries 60 marks, so gather your certificates for any laboratory-related courses early.
- Prepare for the career test. Half the marks go to knowledge of diagnosing faults in equipment (40) and installing and repairing it (20), so revise the equipment used in your field of laboratory work.
- Limited applicants: ask your Head of Division early for the certification on the form. It confirms satisfactory work and conduct and whether you can be released if selected.
