What Was Announced

Two examinations were held on 24 May 2026: a limited examination for graduates already in the public service, and an open examination for graduates. The lists published now name the candidates who qualified for the first phase of interviews. The lists are organised by examination medium and the relevant Gazette notification, and the nine provinces have their own links.

To check whether you qualified, search the list using your examination number or National Identity Card number.

Interview Dates, Venues and Call Letters

  • Interviews are scheduled for November 2026.
  • Call letters stating your venue, date and time will be sent to candidates by post.
  • The interview schedules, venues, dates and times are to be displayed from 15 to 30 October 2026 on the Ministry of Education website and on the websites of the relevant Provincial Public Service Commission, Provincial Ministry of Education or Provincial Chief Ministry.
  • Arrangements may differ between provinces and between the two examination categories, so use the notice for your own province and category.

We have not found a single national interview timetable in the sources we reviewed, so exact dates for your interview must come from your province's notice or your call letter.

Interview Instructions and Forms

The Ministry's materials for this stage include three documents, published in Sinhala, Tamil and English: G1 (introduction and instructions), G2 (interview instructions) and F1 (interview form format). The G2 instructions are the ones that say which documents you must bring, so read it before you finalise your documents.

Editor's guidance (general advice, not part of the notice)

The points below are general guidance by GovInfo.lk, not part of the official notice.

  • Check your name first. Look for yourself in the list for your medium and province, and note your examination number.
  • Deal with university documents immediately. The 20 October date for requesting them has arrived. If you still need a document from your university, contact it now and keep proof of your request.
  • Watch two channels. The call letter comes by post, and the schedule is also posted online. Check the websites between 15 and 30 October and watch for the post.
  • Read G2 before you pack. It lists what you must bring. Use the general checklist below only as a starting point.
  • Prepare forms early. If F1 or another form must be completed, fill it in carefully using the instructions in G1 and G2.
  • Public service graduates: check whether your category has extra requirements in the instructions, and ask your head of institution early if anything is needed from your office.
  • Check details. Make sure the names and details on your certificates match your NIC and your application.
