Open University of Sri Lanka: Recruitment of Graduate Translator (Grade II)
The Open University of Sri Lanka (OUSL) has officially issued a vacancy notice inviting applications from qualified citizens for the post of Graduate Translator Grade II (Sinhala/English). Candidates with a recognized university degree and proven English proficiency are eligible to apply before the closing date.

இலங்கை திறந்த பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் (OUSL) பட்டதாரி மொழிபெயர்ப்பாளர் தரம் II (சிங்களம்/ஆங்கிலம்) பதவிக்காக தகுதியுடையவர்களிடமிருந்து விண்ணப்பங்கள் கோரப்பட்டுள்ளன. அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட பல்கலைக்கழகமொன்றில் சிங்களம் அல்லது தமிழ் பாடத்துடன் பட்டம் பெற்ற மற்றும் ஆங்கில மொழி தேர்ச்சியுடைய 45 வயதுக்கு உட்பட்டவர்கள் விண்ணப்பிக்கலாம். பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்ட விண்ணப்பங்கள் 2026 ஒக்டோபர் 09 ஆம் திகதிக்கு முன்னர் கிடைக்க வேண்டும்.

⚖️ Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: A degree from a recognized university with Sinhala or Tamil as a subject.
- English Language Proficiency:
- A credit pass in English Language or Literature at the G.C.E. (Ordinary Level) Examination; OR
- A pass in the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) or higher examination in the English medium.
- Preferential Considerations: Priority will be given to applicants who offered English as a subject for their undergraduate degree and/or display proven proficiency across all three national languages (Sinhala, Tamil, and English).
- Age Limit: Candidates must not be more than 45 years of age as of the closing date.
💵 Salary Scale & Benefits
Salary Scale: U-MN 3(II) – Rs. 71,365 - 18x1,190 - 92,785 p.m.
- Effective Salary Implementation: The above salary scale comes into full effect on January 1, 2027. Salary placements during 2026 are governed by University Grants Commission Circular No. 02/2025 (i) dated April 4, 2025, plus approved government allowances.
- Provident Fund & Pension:
- Appointees contribute 10% of monthly earnings to the Universities Provident Fund (UPF).
- The University contributes 7% to the UPF, 3% to the Employees’ Trust Fund (ETF), and 8% to the University Pension Scheme.

ou.ac.lk/vacanciesor collect it in person from the Senior Assistant Registrar / Non-Academic Establishments, OUSL, Nawala, Nugegoda. - Attach Certified Documents: Enclose certified true copies of:
- Birth Certificate
- National Identity Card (NIC)
- Degree Certificates and Academic Transcripts
- Professional qualifications and relevant service/experience certificates
- Public Sector Candidates: Applicants currently employed in Government Departments, State Corporations, or Higher Educational Institutions must forward their applications through their respective Head of Institution.

"Post of Graduate Translator Grade II (Sinhala/English)"on the top left-hand corner of the envelope. - Dispatch: Send completed applications under registered cover to reach the university on or before October 9, 2026.
