Editor's guidance (general advice, not part of the notice)
The points below are general guidance by GovInfo.lk, not part of the official notice.
- Separate "required" from "preferred". A postgraduate degree is a preference in every department, not a requirement. The first test is the Bachelor's degree named for the department.
- Note the UGC Circular 721 priority. For most departments, a First Class or Second Class Upper Division degree gets priority, so it is worth stating your class clearly.
- Ask your Head of Institution early if you are in service, since the consent letter must be uploaded with the application.
- Check everything before you submit. You cannot change the application afterwards, so check names, qualifications, dates and uploads.
- Use an email address you check daily, because the confirmation and every later announcement arrive only by email, including any shortlist or interview notice.
- Match your degree carefully. The notice lists specific degree titles for each department. If your degree is a close relative, say how it fits and check with the University before relying on it.
- Apply early. Online systems are busiest on the closing day, and the notice gives no closing time.
