Entry criteria vary according to the level of study chosen under the SLQF guidelines:
- Postgraduate Diploma (SLQF 8): A Bachelor's degree (General or Special) in the relevant or a related field from a recognized university, or an equivalent professional qualification recognized by the University Senate.
- Master of Arts (SLQF 9 & 10): A Bachelor's Honours/Special degree or a General degree with appropriate classes/grades, or a Postgraduate Diploma in the relevant field from a UGC-recognized university.
- Specialized MSc / Master's Programmes: A recognized degree in the relevant subject area (e.g., Finance/Banking for MSc Banking, Environmental Science/Geography for Environmental Management) or equivalent executive/managerial experience acceptable to PGIHS.
- MPhil / PhD Degrees: A Master's degree with a substantial research component or a Bachelor's Honours degree with First/Second Class Upper Division, alongside a comprehensive research concept proposal.
