Editor's guidance (general advice, not part of the notice)

The points below are general guidance by GovInfo.lk, not part of the official notice.

  • Confirm the closing date first. The ad says "within 14 days of this advertisement" and was printed in the Sunday Observer on 25 October 2026. Counted from that date, 14 days ends on 8 November 2026, but the same ad may have appeared on other days or in other papers, so confirm with the Authority and do not wait for the last day.
  • Do not skip the post marking. Write the post on the top left of the envelope. If you apply for more than one post, the ad does not say whether one application can cover several, so send a separate envelope for each to be safe.
  • Check the Cashier conditions carefully. They combine O/L credits in three named subjects, A/L passes and a typing or computer word processing course. Missing any one is enough to be disqualified.
  • The Record Keeper post is the lowest barrier, with six O/L passes, so expect heavy competition for its 20 places. Prepare your CV and documents carefully.
  • Choose your route. If you currently work for the Authority, check the internal route for your post, since it can be easier than the external one. If you work in another government body, remember to apply through your Head of Institution.
  • Prepare two non-related referees who agree to be named, with their addresses and telephone numbers.
  • Certify your copies and keep a complete copy of everything you send, together with the registered post receipt.
Before you apply: this post summarises the Authority's advertisement of 25 October 2026. Use the original notice for exact wording of the qualifications, and confirm the closing date with the Authority.
